4. SOAR recognizes that service on a board is a volunteer position that takes resources and commitment from you. We want to support board members by helping to reduce any barriers that would limit the ability to fully participate as a board member. Do you need support to address barriers that may hinder you from participating? (i.e. time constraints, limited access to technology, limited transportation options, childcare needs, etc.)

5. A conflict of interest is when what is in a person’s best interest is not in the best interest of the organization. One example may be – you cast a vote to contract with XYZ marketing firm when your family member owns the marketing firm.
